I loved the use of Tyvek and other mailing materials. I didn't see the review that upset you. It was enormously fun for me to see Ms. Gschwandter use 16mm film as fabric and it was difficult not to touch Mr. Sollins paper creations. Luke Haynes quilts, the only true quilts of the bunch, were as close to contemporary art quilts as I could imagine. What I realized this morning, and it is really starting to bother me, was that the men got the lion's share of the gallery, while Ms. Gschwandter was tucked in a corner, almost as an afterthought. Ugh.

Take care, Byrd
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-588118538433483895.post-50963358413207584322013-12-28T07:04:19.480-05:002013-12-28T07:04:19.480-05:00Ach, art critics! Sometimes the luck is that real art is on that bandwagon, but most of the time it's driven by marketing of one kind or another.
Olga Norrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10554469124546960971noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-588118538433483895.post-40069635560095543962013-12-28T06:46:18.476-05:002013-12-28T06:46:18.476-05:00Yes, just reading the headline made me think "...Yes, just reading the headline made me think "What, they never noticed Sandoval?"
