At some point he bought a pair of corduroy pants which needed to be hemmed. He turned them up and sewed them using the wales to space his stitches. he did a great job, it took him forever, but looked fantastic. A similar tool library would have been very helpful though!Kay Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07802485588677339312noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-588118538433483895.post-5724920995600366162022-09-25T08:28:17.978-04:002022-09-25T08:28:17.978-04:00What a wonderful thing you are doing! We had an hours mending every sat morning. We did it we showed it to matron and if it was not good enough she ripped it out. I had much experience of my over and unders when darning socks not being up to standard. Matron took the scissors and cut out your darn and so you had to start againirene macwilliamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11758839710333575379noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-588118538433483895.post-19906589289027965772022-09-24T23:47:28.883-04:002022-09-24T23:47:28.883-04:00Positively brilliant--both the Tool Library and Se...Positively brilliant--both the Tool Library and Sewing with Matt's Mom! I also remember (and am inspired by) your past mending projects. This touches my heart and makes me want to do something to pass on our sewing skills to people who were not lucky enough to have grandmothers and mothers like we had!Martha Ginnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01609132014556238098noreply@blogger.com
