One of the highlights of my recent trip to Japan was a trip to the supermarket -- nothing fancy, like the food court at Takashimaya, the upscale department store I visited in Kyoto five years ago, just an ordinary grocery store in a small city in the hinterlands. The asparagus photo is gorgeous. Between the lines of the stalks and then the blue/purple horizontal ties....just a great pic.
