I have no idea what it is -- just something I walked past. I can reliably identify maple, oak and ginkgo trees, provided they still have their leaves. Everything else is a mystery.
When I saw this picture before I read the title, I was thinking, "Burnt-out silk velvet with dark grey appliques and coral beads." It really could translate to fabric. It also resembles eucalyptus bark, but I don't think you have them in Kentucky?
For more than a decade I've been doing daily (and sometimes weekly) art projects. In 2012 it was hand-stitching. Check them all out:

About me
I make abstract art -- usually with a needle but sometimes with a pen, brush or camera, scissors and glue, pliers and wirecutters, whatever is there. I have a husband, two sons, seven sewing machines, a big messy studio and lots of other people's art. Life is good!
Love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of bark is this? Love the color!
