I know that when you make "yarn" from leftover textiles you neither expect nor want to have perfect color matches from skein to skein. But these don't even look close:
Probably best to choose a project requiring one skein.
Totally true. I saw these in Hobby Lobby and thought the same thing. But they are all so gorgeous, it is hard to pick one. I am using them for couching lines onto my art quilts and loving the results.
I've only used sari yarn for couching and I love it. I think I need to get to Hobby Lobby and check these out. Color matching for knitting? With these, color match is overrated!
I've been doing daily art for a long time, and everything since 2010 is documented in my other blog. This year it's painting. Click on the photo to check it out.

About me
I make abstract art -- usually with a needle but sometimes with a pen, brush or camera, scissors and glue, pliers and wirecutters, whatever is there. I have a husband, two sons, seven sewing machines, a big messy studio and lots of other people's art. Life is good!

ReplyDeleteI just love the way you look at the world, and really SEE it. And then make clever observations about it.
ReplyDeleteThis applies to fabrics and threads too! Many a time I have been disappointed to find miss matching dye lots!
