 Happy 12/12/12!

12 new skeins of embroidery floss

12 pieces of old type

12 pens

12 sew-off squares

12 bobbins

12 pins

12 hand-dyes

12 packs of 100% cotton rickrack

12 spools of metallic thread

12 keys found on the road

12 woven trims

12 braided cords

but no partridge in a pear tree

  1. Thanks, Ineke! Most of them belonged to my father, which puts their age at about 70. Lots of letters have gone through those nibs.

  2. Now wouldn't that be a new Daily Art project for 2013? 13 thirteens for thirteen - what - weeks, months?

  3. oo, those are enviable sew-off squares!

  4. 10 cents for a package of rick-rack? You sure had that one a long time.

  5. I am pretty sure my sewing studio contains at least one of those trims.

  6. Norma -- just having 100% cotton rickrack shows that it goes back a long time. (I think I got the 10 cent package out of some dead person's stash)

Leigh -- your stash must go back a long time too! I'm sure all those trims were bought in the 60s and 70s

  7. I am in love with your 12 type numbers! So fabulous!

  8. ohhh I need to get me some type set numbers - love them - I have a small collection but those are great!

  9. Great fun to look at and to read the comments.

  10. Hey! YOur stash looks a lot like mine!

  11. who needs the partridge when you have all those yummy fabrics and collection. Good work!
