Gustav Vigeland 2 -- kids at play

I was particularly taken by the way that Vigeland's children are so neatly integrated into the life of his sculptural community.  They play with one another, of course, but also with their parents and grandparents.  These don't appear to be the coddled and protected kids of today; they're tossed in the air with abandon, and seem to be having a great time.

Sometimes they just hang out with older people, being taught the ways of the world.

More tomorrow.
